A major media company was dealing with changes in business & online distribution channels, and needed the capabilities to evolve and scale their analytics. Given the explosion of data from digital channels of distribution (from 60+ online distributors like Amazon, Netflix, & Hulu), the multiplication of subject areas, data sources and geographic feeds from across the world, the environment was maxed out. The existing EDW was primarily an on-premise environment primarily supporting all reports, dashboards and the data science/analytics. It was prohibitively expensive to continue scaling this infrastructure to meet growing needs. Systech migrated this analytics environment to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud platform so that the EDW could handle the rapidly changing business requirements. This also enabled the rapid integration of new external data streams. The Cloud-based analytics platform provided several benefits to the organization and enabled agility, scalability, self-service options across the distributed organization and overall capabilities.
