Healthcare Analytics + Big Data

Get the Big Picture with Big Data

Leveraging Big Data reveals vast opportunities in Healthcare Analytics. Provider organizations can use architectures optimized for big data – i.e. data lakes, cloud-based solutions, Hadoop clusters, etc. – as platforms for practicing Evidence-Based Care, efficiently integrating clinical data, patient data, and research evidence sourced outside of the EHR.  Big Data can also be used to enrich existing internal records to provide more precise analyses. Combining patient data, external personal health data, and geographic data, organizations can more accurately predict costs at the population level. Ask us more about our Big Data and Advanced Analytics solutions that help health practices get a handle on their data volumes and complexity, and provide actionable information that improves patient care, reduces risk, and strengthens the bottom line.

Comprehensive

Comprehensive health care data includes not only claims data, but multi-sourced clinical data, socio-demographic data and admit/discharge data, which contributes to a more detailed picture of patient health and activity.

Standardized

Standardized data is cleansed, has common terminology, and is compliant with regulation, allowing for apples-to-apples analysis.

Timely

Timely data comes from EMRs and other provider information systems that show how patients are being treated and where they’re being moved.

Predictive

Predictive data illuminates patterns that can forecast trends to help you manage risks and costs.

Physician Performance Management

Analyze the performance of your physicians by providing a performance scorecard on an ongoing basis, showcasing individual performance against the aggregate performance of peers. This creates transparency and allows lower-performing physicians to improve their practice and address inefficiencies or bottlenecks within the service process.

Readmission Analysis

Improve patient outcomes and reduce readmissions by grouping your patients by possible determinants of risk. Identify high-risk patients and deliver the right intervention at the right time. Detect historical trends through exploratory data analysis  to reduce the probability of readmission.

Success Stories

Operational & Financial Intelligence at a Drug-Testing Laboratory

At one of the largest drug-testing laboratories in the U.S., Systech built a full enterprise data warehouse that integrated billing data, accounting, expenses, and other lab data. Analysts conducted healthcare analytics & reported on cash reconciliation, procedure payments, summaries or ordered tests, giving managers insight into operational and financial health—at a glance.

Expanding HIE Capabilities for Evidence-Based Care

A nursing-facility group wanted to practice evidenced-based, cost-effective patient care by expanding its health information exchange (HIE) infrastructure and capabilities. Systech partnered with them to establish a comprehensive Information Management Framework that became the hub for data exchange and information sharing both internal and external to the organization.

Development of a Case-Management Application

A digital health solutions company partnered with Systech for the design & development of an application that would document patient status across multiple clinical and diagnostic dimensions, and verify diagnoses. The application gave personalized recommendations based on a patient’s level of care, built on sophisticated decision algorithms. This app eliminated report writing and enabled management decisions to be based on shared information.
